Zynga Worth more Than EA!?

October 27th, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Companies & M&A | No Comments »

According to data from SharesPost, Zynga is now worth $5.51 Billion, effectively beating EA from the throne as second most valuable gaming company world-wide.

According to ThinkEquity LLC analyst Atul Bagga, the high valuation makes sense given the recent acquisitions by Zynga (10 studios in just 12 months). Comparing both, Zynga is living purely from downloadable games while EA has to put most of them in real stores. The investment per game Zynga creates is likely to be less than EA’s console lineup.
