With OMGPOP’s DrawSomething attracting 30 million downloads in just five weeks, the company put itself in the spotlights to be acquired. One of the companies that is rumoured to be interested in OMGPOP is Zynga.
OMGPOP collected $17 million in revenues from their drawing game, making it one of the most successful products since Angry Birds. Next to Zynga, Techcrunch reports that Gree is also interested in acquiring the developer. If OMGPOP will be selling, it is expected to raise between $150 and $200 million.
If Zynga won’t buy OMGPOP, it is likely that Zynga will just develop a similar title and promote that under its massive amount of gamers. Since there is no official Pictionary on iOS, that might offer some possibilities as well.
