According to recent research, The Register reports an estimated the
amounts spend by modern European youth on their phones throughout their
lives is $ 28.000 starting at the age of 8!
The youth spends eight times more on mobile (services) then they do on music. In total, their mobile receives 20% of their income which leads to a decline in sales of other popular items like Chocolate and Cigarettes as well.
"In 2007 they (youth between five and 24) will spend over $150bn on their mobile. That’s up from nothing 10 years ago." explains researcher Graham Brown.
