March 31st, 2011 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: Windows Phone | No Comments »

Microsoft’s Brandon Watson posted some interesting numbers on Windows Phone 7, that turned one year old today. The SDK has been downloaded 1.5 million times and 36.000 developers subscribed to AppHub.

1.200 new developers are signing up to AppHub every week. 40% of AppHub developers have launched one or more apps. Windows Marketplace holds 11.500 apps. Microsoft didn’t count LITE apps and counted apps that are submitted in various languages as just a single app. 7.5 thousand of them are paid. 1.1 thousand have Microsoft Advertising Ad Control installed. 44% of paid apps are available as trial versions as well, using the Trial API. The average certification time is 1.8 days and 62% of apps pass the first time.

Consumers download on average 12 apps a month. With the phone being around for four months, the early adopters would have about 48 apps installed.
