Several sources on the net have revealed the latest details of the Windows Mobile roadmap. This year and next, we will see Microsoft do everything to gain control over the smartphone market.
Along April 2009, Microsoft will start shipping Windows Mobile 6.5 to handset vendors. With Windows 6.5, Microsoft will introduce several flashy improvements to the platform and the UI. The first actual handsets are expected in September of this year.
By the end of the year (November), Microsoft will send Windows Mobile 7 to the testers. By April of 2010, the first Windows Mobile 7 devices should be available to consumers world-wide.
