Yesterday we announced that today would be the big day that Vodafone NL would launch it's own app store with the aim to increase data consumption from it's subscribers. Today we look at the surprising result.
First off, it's not BetaVine, an option we announced yesterday. In fact, we are even disappointed about the amount of fuzz that Vodafone created around the service. It's not much more then a flash app that sends a bookmark via SMS to your phone. It's offering direct links to download applications that are freely offered by newspapers, TV broadcasters etc.
So it's not a real app store, not even a distribution platform. It's… just a luxury bookmark service.
