Verizon is joining the Joint Innovation Lab. This initiative (which has been started by Vodafone, Softbank and Chine Mobile) is focusing at developing a global widget platform in the hope to create on standard for all OS’s.

By joining the initiative, Verizon (which is partly owned by Vodafone) adds another big group of consumers to increase the footprint of these widgets.
