Vendors get Their Own Android Market

April 13th, 2011 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: AndroidOS | No Comments »

Google has extended Android Market with the possibility for hardware vendors (and potentially operators) to launch their own sections on Android Market. Google follows Bada and WP7 in this move.

HTC launched the portal on their Desire S earlier this week and Sony Ericsson started using this option last Wednesday. The vendor specific tabs are limited to 100 apps. Upto now vendors like LG uploaded their own apps with download advice on the market.
