Content delivery specialist Urban Airship announced an investment of $1.1 Million through a Series A funding round led by True Ventures which included partner Founders Co-op.
Urban Airship is mainly known for their iPhone push messaging backend. This solution is used by companies like Tapulous (TapTap Revenge Series). The funding will be used to expand the development team. The company also has plans to expand their platform and services to BlackBerry, Android, Windows Mobile and other smartphone platforms. The company also announced plans to introduce a mobile advertising scheme into their messaging services.
