Unreal Engine 3 Spotted on the iPhone

December 23rd, 2009 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: iOS | No Comments »

Epic Ever thought about playing UT3 or GOW2 on the iPhone? Technically it seems possible since Epic Games has managed to get their well known engine working on Apple’s device.

Though this is great in a technical aspect, decent first-person shooters are still far from a great experience on the small device. It’s not clear if and when Epic will be licensing the engine for the iPhone, but at least it is a sign that middleware companies are starting to get involved with mobile gaming and see a market for the future. It reaffirms mobile gaming is here to stay.
