During the Develop event, Stuart Dredge asked David Helgason (CEO of Unity) for his opinion on Steve Job’s comment that games made with middleware are crappy.
“He doesn’t understand the economics of game development fundamentally,” said Helgason, saying that pure native code development might work for apps, but not for more complex games. According to the CEO, 10~20% of the games in the top selling list are made with Unity’s 3D engine.
