Unity Makes a Nove to LG’s TV’s

February 7th, 2012 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: C | No Comments »

It seems LG is in for some serious gaming as Unity has expanded support for their development tools to LG. LG has already been running a dedicated TV app store on their connected TV’s and Blu Ray Players for a number of years.

Unity will not only provide the tools to get your apps running on the LG SMART TV’s, but also allows you to move onto their app store via the Unity Union division. The availability of Untiy’s technology will potentially provide LG the power to compete with ‘family’-style consoles like Nintendo’s Wii.

Unity will be on the 2012 SMART TV range which comes with motion controllers called the Magic Motion Remote. At the time of writing, we don’t know much about the processingpower of the hardware yet.
