TomTom, the Dutch navigation company, has announced that it will be opening an app store later this year. With this move, TomTom will be increasing their focus on content.
The apps will be based on the popular WebKit, which means a big part of the development will be based on HTML, Javascript and CSS. TomTom thinks that apps like WikiPedia would be very beneficial to navigation owners, but the company also hopes to see Augmented Reality launches.
