Though Nokia has been reported to be sacking part of it’s Symbian developers, the vendor announced that it still expects to roll out three updates for the Symbian platform in 2011.
Next to bugfixes, Nokia will make several changes to the Symbian UI, but in regards to new features there’s nothing to report for now.
Nokia expects to keep releasing Symbian phones for at least a few more years until Windows Phone 7 takes over completely. It is likely Symbian will first be taking the position of the budget smartphone OS like Bada is to Samsung.
