THQ Aims for Digital Distribution

February 8th, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Companies & M&A, Platforms: iOS, Platforms: PSP Minis, Platforms: XNA | No Comments »

Thq-wireless Though THQ used to own a lot of shelfspace all over the world, this might change soon as the company has announced to focus themselves more and more on digital distribution.

It has renamed Juice Games to THQ Digital Studios Warrington and Rainbow Studios to THQ Digital Studios Phoenix. The Universomo studio isn’t mentioned. With the change of focus, another 60 people will be fired.

With their new digital strategy, THQ will limit their released as much as possible to XBLA, PSN and the iPhone & iPad (this is where we find it strange Universomo isn’t mentioned). Both studios would release their first digital downloads in 2011.
