August 31st, 2007 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Companies & M&A | No Comments »

TelcogamesTelcoGames has added yet another company into their Group. After the acquisition of Fathammer last year, TelcoGames now swallows Viva La Mobile, a mobile multiplayer expert.

Based in Australia, Viva La Mobile has managed to set up a huge multiplayer network based on their Red Star platform. With clients like 3 Australia, 3 Austria, 3 Hong Kong, Smartone Vodafone, PCCW Sunday Honk Kong and Telstra, the Red Star platform currently handled 1.4 million paid mobile multiplayer sessions.

The Red Star platform handles highscores, community features and championship rankings like many similar platforms on the market today. With the Acquisition, Orange in Israel will be the first TelcoGames client to launch Red Star in September. The service will launch with titles like Super Puzzle Bobble from Taito.

Jamie Conyngham, CEO Telcogames said "The Viva acquisition allows us to continue offering our clients the latest advances in mobile games. Gamers in many European countries have yet to see branded real-time multi-player games such as Taito’s Super Puzzle Bobble and we intend to change to make this part of our offering to our global distribution base".

David Kainer, MD Viva La Mobile stated "Telcogames global distribution will allow us to get people playing our games around the world and to enjoy the great experiences we have built into our games. We will also be able to take our technology to the next stage with the full backing of Telcogames, a global player ".
