Distimo: Android to surpass iOS App Store in Numbers

According to Dutch analytics company Distimo, the Android Market will soon be bigger than the iTunes App Store. Currently, the App Store holds 333.000 apps and Android Market holds 206.000.

LG to Subsidize Windows Phone Apps

LG has announced it will be giving away ten apps for free on Windows Marketplace every month. These ten apps will exclude any in-house developed apps and games from LG.

Nielsen: iTunes Best and Windows Marketplace Worst App Store

Nielsen Nielsen has surveyed 4.000 consumers about their usage of app stores. The survey shows that consumers are very satisfied about Apple, but are less happy with Microsoft’s efforts.

MWC: Windows Marketplace Opens Borders

Windows-phone On February 18th, Microsoft will open the borders in the Windows Marketplace. This is a great step forward for consumers in non-English territories as till now, Microsoft only allowed them to see apps that were fully localized.
