Nokia Releases Free Microsoft Office for Symbian

Back in 2009, Nokia announced that it, together with Microsoft, would start the development of Microsoft Office for Symbian Devices. Following up on the EOL status for Symbian, Nokia finally released Microsoft Office for the OS.

Nokia Starts Windows Phone Training for Symbian Developers

Nokia’s Czech department has started to invite Symbian developers to the Microsoft offices. There, the companies will help developers in their transition from Symbian development to Windows Phone.

While Nokia invested a lot in letting Symbian go open source under the Symbian Foundation, it seems the giant has changed it’s plans now it bought Symbian back. From now on, clients have to pay again.

Three Updates for Symbian in 2011

Though Nokia has been reported to be sacking part of it’s Symbian developers, the vendor announced that it still expects to roll out three updates for the Symbian platform in 2011.

GfK: iPhone Users Most Loyal

According to a study from GfK, 60% of iPhone owners plan to stick with their device for renewal. This makes iPhone consumers the most loyal ones. Possible reasons are app-investment as well as fanboyship.
