Google, Intel and Sony Developing Android TV

Google, Sony and Intel have announced to be working on set-top TV boxes that run Android. The service will probably be called Google TV though we could also understand Android TV or just YouTube.

GDC: PhyreEngine Goes PSP

PSP Minis developers will soon have the chance of utilizing Sony’s PhyreEngine for their games. The PhyreEngine has been developed for the Playstation 3 and has been converted by ‘public demand’.

The much rumored PSP phone seems to be coming. Following a statement from SonyEricsson that it would install PSN on new mobile phones, Sony now announced its interest in a smartphone that can play PSP games.

Minis Go on Discount

Sony is discounting the PSP/PS3 Minis the coming two weeks. Through the discount, the company hopes to attract more consumers to the offering. The offer will run from today till February 18th.

Sony Works on iTunes Competitor

Sony is working hard to pick up the competition with iTunes. It already owns a digital sales channel called PSN (or Playstation Network) and it plans to expend it under the name of Sony Online Services.

PSPgo & Mini’s, not so iPhone’esque

Last Thursday, Sony launched the PSPgo and with it, their new Mini's category. Though it was a challenge by itself to find a retailer in our neighbourhood who actually sold the device, the Mini's where a bit disappointing too.

PSPgo Allows Game Rentals

It seems Sony is planning to allow game rentals for the new PSP system. With this tactic it will not only shut out retail sales, but also rental stores that rent out UMD's for the older models.
