Samsung Sold 5 Mln Galaxy S II Devices

It took them 85 days, but Samsung now confirms it has managed to sell 5 million Galaxy S II devices. That news comes only 30 days after hitting 3 million sales.

RBC: 250.000 PlayBooks Sold

By now we all know RIM will have to push hard to conquer a piece of the tablet pie, but their PlayBook is doing far from bad. RBC estimates about a quarter of a million sales for the tablet.

CVG: Sony Concerned by Xperia Play PSone Sales

According to CVG, Sony has expressed concerns about the sales of PSone games on the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play smartphone. Only a few thousand sales have been registered to date.

IDC: 371.8 Million Mobile Sold in Q1

Analysts from IDC calculated that 371.8 million phones have been sold in the first quarter of 2011. That’s a plus of 20% year-on-year. Nokia, Samsung, Apple, LG and ZTE dominate the charts.

250K Motorola Xoom’s Sold

Motorola is doing well. The company managed to generate 22% more revenues compared to the first quarter of 2010. The company also announced it has sold a quarter of a million Xoom tablets.

GfK: BlackBerry Topping the Charts in Holland

Some more news from our lovely home country. GfK announced that BlackBerry is still dominating the Dutch sales charts. The most popular BlackBerry phone is the BlackBerry Curve 8520.

Microsoft Sold 2 Million Windows Phone 7 Licenses

Microsoft has announced that it has sold 2 million Windows Phone 7 licenses to device vendors. This news follows on the announcement that 1.5 million Windows Phone 7 devices have been sold in the first two months after launch.

PSP Best Sold Console in Japan

1.5 Million Windows Phone 7 Devices With Consumers and Retail

HTC Doubles Smartphone Sales year-on-year

HTC has announced that between July 2009 and July 2010, the vendor sold twice as much smartphones. In 2009, July was worth €225 million which rose to €575 million in 2010.
