WES: BlackBerry App World Hits 1M/Day Downloads

During a RIM keynote at the Wireless Enterprise Symposium, Research In Motion co-CEO Jim Balsillie announced that BlackBerry App World is generating 1 million downloads a day, only 12 months after launch.

Last week, BlackBerry App World turned one. Since the start, BlackBerry App World has grown from 3 supported countries to 46. The catalogue now supports 6.000 apps and games.

RIM Acquires Viigo

RIM has acquired Viigo. Viigo is the developer of a BlackBerry app with the same name. The Viigo app is able to deliver real-time information from a variety of sources, something important to the business market.

DevCon: Rim Announces OpenGL Support
