Google, Intel and Sony Developing Android TV

Google, Sony and Intel have announced to be working on set-top TV boxes that run Android. The service will probably be called Google TV though we could also understand Android TV or just YouTube.

South Korea to Block Android Market

Google landed itself in a conflict with South Korea because of the games on Android Market. By law, all games sold on the South Korean market need to be approved by the Game Ratings Board.

Google Announces Android NDK 3.0

Google has announced the third installment of the Android Native Development Kit (NDK). With this version, developers will be allowed to make use of OpenGL ES 2.0 for the rendering of 3D content.

It seems Google is increasing their pr for Android and their Nexus One. After giving away hundreds of phones at the MWC, the company will now also give one to developers that trigger 5K downloads on Android Market.

Google Working on Android JIT Compiler

Nexus Sold 80K Units to Date

Flurry has calculated that Google/HTC has sold 80.000 Nexus One Phones. Last month we already reported 20.000 sales and to the looks of it, the device didn’t gain much traction a month later as well.
