Yesterday was a big day for Android as Google released Gingerbread (Android OS 2.3) for the Nexus One and also announced their second device, the Nexus S in partnership with Samsung.

Google to Split Android

According to rumors, Google has plans to split Android up. That way, consumers can get access to API’s of future Android versions without having to wait for vendors and operators to make new firmware available.
