Archos Claims Third Spot on EU Tablet Market

Archos has announced it is the second biggest vendor of tablets on the European market. If the tablets above €400 (yes, that’s mainly you Apple) aren’t counted, the company would be leading the market.

MWC: ZTE Goes Big on Quad-Core in Europe

ZTE is set to make a splash on the European market with their high-end Android devices. Amongst them is the new ZTE Era. A smartphone with a quad-core (1.3Ghz) CPU, 1GB RAM and a 960×540 screen.

IDC: Samsung Beats Nokia in Europe

Samsung is the new market leader in Europe. They have beaten the Finnish with a mere 1% in market share. Samsung sold 29% of all mobile phones in Q1. Nokia did ‘just’ 28% in the same quarter.

HTC’s 3D Device to hit Europe in 2011

During the CTIA, HTC presented their HTC EVO 3D device. An android phone with an autostereoscopic 3D screen similar to that of LG’s Optimus 3D and Nintendo’s 3DS.

iAd Coming to Europe (and Japan)

Apple has announced it will finally bring the iAd platform to Europe, only six months after (a rather slow) release in the United States. iAd will also be taken to Japan through Dentsu.

Nintendo 3DS Lands in 2011

Nintendo finally announced the releasedate for the Nintendo 3DS. The 3D console is expected to launch in Japan on February 26th while Europe will have to wait until sometime in March.

Vodafone to Launch Nexus One in Europe

UK consumers could already purchase the Nexus One from Google, but now Vodafone will also be offering the device in various EU markets. The kickoff for the device will be on April 30th in the UK.

MWC: ZuneHD in Europe? Not Likely!

Zune When Microsoft introduced the ZuneHD, many analysts were disappointed that the Zune HD was limited to the US market. Though Apple is very successful with the iPod Touch, it seems Microsoft will not move.

Palm to bring Paid Apps to Europe

Palm-one Palm has announced that European developers can start spreading paid apps on the App Catalog from March 2010 onward. The company saw 600 paid apps launch in the past two months.
