EA Values Mobile Gaming at $3.4 Billion in 2010

EA has done some calculating and estimates that the Mobile Gaming market is worth $3.4 billion in 2010. For 2013, they expect the amount to grow all the way to $ 4.5 billion.

Cut The Rope Passes 2 Million Downloads

EA’s first press release for Chillingo landed in our mailbox today. The company announced that Chillingo’s recently launched Cut The Rope game has passed 2 million downloads on the App Store.

Zynga Worth more Than EA!?

According to data from SharesPost, Zynga is now worth $5.51 Billion, effectively beating EA from the throne as second most valuable gaming company world-wide.

EA Acquires Chillingo

Good news for the guys over at Chillingo. The successful iOS publisher has been acquired by gaming behemoth EA. With the acquisition, EA will further strengthen its position on the App Store.

EA Wishes for Android App Store

Financials: EA’s Q1 2010 (Q2 2010 for us)

EA has reported a total profit of $96 Million over the first quarter of their fiscal year 2011. That is an increase in revenues of $330 million year-on-year.

EA Sells Ubisoft Shares

Back in 2004, EA had bought 20% of Ubisoft as shareholder John de Mol needed to raise capital to start a new TV channel in Holland. Now, six years later, EA has decided to sell them on.
