App Store Passed 10.000.000.000 Downloads

Last Saturday, Apple’s App Store passed ten billion downloads. The App Store currently holds over 300.000 apps and was launched in July 2008 following the release of the first iPhone.

iOS Products Important to Apple

In the past quarter, Apple sold 11% more products compared to the previous quarter. Though most product groups showed an increase in sales, desktop sales actually decreased.

Microsoft Questions ‘App Store’ Trademark

After being battled about the ‘Windows’ trademark being too generic, Microsoft is now chasing up Apple for the same thing. Microsoft believes the term ‘App Store’ is too generic.

Apple Launches Mac App Store, Hackers Ruin It

Last Friday, Apple launched the new App Store for Mac. What the company didn’t expect though was that the store was hacked only hours after opening resulting in many users freely downloading the apps from their store.

Skype to go Head On With Apple’s FaceTime

Engadget found out Skype is likely to be introducing video conferencing functionality in it’s upcoming iOS releases. The introduction of these functions bring direct competition to Apple’s FaceTime.

Apple Releases iAd Producer

Apple has released a new bit of software called the iAd Producer. The iAd Producer is a piece of Mac software (what’s to expect) that allows easy development of adverts for the iAd network. This is likely to be the first step from Apple to boost the iAd network.

Apple to Somewhat Allow Jailbreaks

Head of iPhone Game Technology Leaves Apple
