According to the Swedish media, Apple has bought mobile app developer Polar Rose. Polar Rose is well known for its facial recognition apps that it released on Android.

Developers Can Block Apple’s Airplay Service

iPad Goes on Sale in South America and China

Just before the weekend, Apple launched the iPad in China and South America. In Beijing, one consumer stood in line for 60 hours to make sure he would buy the first unit.

Apple Starts Clearing Unused Names

In the App Store, every app has to have a unique title. As a result, many developers have registered titles that sounds good, but haven’t used them for any app yet. Apple has started to take action to free those titles up.

Adobe Restarts Flash for iOS Development

Apple Relaxes Rules of Development

Probably to avoid any Legal problems, Apple has started to relax their review guidelines. As a result, developers are now allowed to use any tool for developing iOS apps (inc. Flash CS 5) as long as the games don’t download code.

Asymco: iPod Touch Represents 37.7% of iOS devices

Market researcher Asymco has calculated that at least one out of three iOS devices is not connected over 3G. Asymco calculated this based on Apple’s own statistics.
