Apple Launches Mac App Store, Hackers Ruin It

Last Friday, Apple launched the new App Store for Mac. What the company didn’t expect though was that the store was hacked only hours after opening resulting in many users freely downloading the apps from their store.

According to a post on The Next Web, app farms are hiding the App Store yet again. In the US paid business apps chart, malicious apps seem to be pulling in revenues like crazy.

HTC to Launch an App Store!?

According to a story on the Financial Times, HTC is seems to be set on starting up their own App Store. Of course, they have their own channel on Windows Marketplace, but this step would give them control over Android app sales.

Cut The Rope Passes 2 Million Downloads

EA’s first press release for Chillingo landed in our mailbox today. The company announced that Chillingo’s recently launched Cut The Rope game has passed 2 million downloads on the App Store.

App Store Breaches Through 300.000 Apps, How Many have Gone?

On September first, Steve Jobs announced the App Store passed a quarter million apps. Yesterday, the App Store broke through 300K apps. In other words, 50.000 new apps in about six weeks!
