T-Mobile NL Leaks iPhone Hardware Details

June 11th, 2009 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: iOS | No Comments »

Apple For those reading our story on fragmentation due to the new hardware from Apple, here are more details as to what the iPhone 3GS is offering the consumers thanks to T-Mobile NL.

The new iPhone holds a 600 Mhz processor together with 256MB ram. Since the 3G holds a 412 Mhz processor, the CUP alone is not really twice as fast as the old one. Memory did double though and the GPU is new as well. T-Mobile revealed these details on a mini site which they removed only hours later.

As these hardware details don't show a real reason for the device to be twice as fast, we will have to wait for tests to bring proof for the speed increase. Also, it shows that the iPhone 3GS' hardware is a close match to competitor Palm who just released their Pre.

Next to these technical details, T-Mobile NL also notified consumers that they will allow tethering but… at a higher price. Consumers will have to upgrade their subscriptions.
