Symbian Sells 298.000 S60 Phones a Day

August 9th, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: Symbian | No Comments »

Thought 200.000 new Androids a day is a lot? Symbian says they are still miles ahead of Google as Symbian sees 298.000 new S60 based smartphones being activated every single day.

In fact, Q2 of 2010 has been the best period for Symbian, ever. With these numbers, Symbian clearly wants to say it is still far from dead and developers should not overlook the platform though Symbian’s popularity is mainly catching up in poor countries as most of the Symbian hardware is older compared to for example Android or even Bada.
