According to research from Sybase, most iPad consumers plan to use the device mainly for work, suggesting the iPad could be on a way to replace the popular netbooks.
The company had surveyed 2.443 adults with a mobile phone. 770 of those own a smartphone. From those smartphone owners, 52.3% said they want to use the device mainly for work. In total, 75% of the respondents said they expect to be more productive with an iPad.
35.4% of the respondents said they will use the iPad mainly as a gaming device which is a good sign for the industry.
