Sun has released it's brand new (and long awaited) mobile OS called JavaFX. With the OS, the company opens developers a full native Java experience on mobile phones.
JavaFX is a rich client platform that allows developers to create mobile games without all the fragmentation issues that are known to Java 2 Micro Edition (J2me). The platform will also make it easy to gain uniform control over device specific hardware like GPS and Bluatooth.
Next to a more native environment, JavaFX is also much bigger then J2me. It offers most of the functionality that is known to the desktop environment.
The new OS will be backed by several operators and handset vendors like Orange, SonyEricsson and LG.
