Last week, we reported that Square Enix is interested in acquiring SCI/Eidos. Today, we can inform you that one of Eidos' biggest shareholders, Time Warner, has given Square Enix the green light for the acquisition.
This news makes an end to the much rumoured takeover of Eidos that could have been planned by Warner. With both Warner and Eidos being positive about the acquisition, Square Enix already has 35% of the shareholders behind them.
By the end of March, there will be a special shareholders meeting in which the companies hope to convince at least another 40% of the shareholders. Once they have 75% of the shareholders in favour of the acquisition, Square Enix can continue.
Congratulations
