April 13th, 2012 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: AndroidOS | No Comments »

Sony has released its SmartWatch in the US. The SmarWatch is a followup to the SonyEricsson LiveView and allows Android phones to send updates to it. In return, the SmartWatch can be used as a remote for mobile apps.

The SmartWatch is based on a 1.3 inch screen and connects over Bluetooth. Smartphones connecting to the SmartWatch will have to run Android 2.1 or above and developers are allowed to develop their own apps for the device. The SmartWatch retails at $149,99.
