Sony is working hard to pick up the competition with iTunes. It already owns a digital sales channel called PSN (or Playstation Network) and it plans to expend it under the name of Sony Online Services.
In the new shop, Sony will sell movies, music and e-books next to games and applications. To differentiate from competitor Apple, it will also allow consumers to share their own content. Something that might cause the company a headache when it comes to chasing copyrights.
