SocialKit to Bring Facebook onto iPhone OS 4.0?

April 20th, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: iOS | No Comments »

Gunning for Safety discovered that Apple might be working on Facebook integration for iPhone OS 4.0. The iPhone already supports Gmail, Microsoft Exchange, MobileMe, AOL and other user accounts.

As the writer states, getting contacts from facebook is not that much different compared to contacts on Gmail though it would allow Apple to build some sort of preferred contacts list.

At the same time, it could also mean facebook connect will be integrated further into the iPhone system which then means users only have to connect once for all their apps. It could also be extending the social abilities of the GameKit/Game Center Apple is working on.
