We all know there is still money in good old WAP games, but who would have considered SMS is still making money? Snackable Media has managed to turn over $170 Million last year.
In an interview with Venturebeat, the company noted that these revenues are split 50/50 with their channel owners. In 2008, the company made $90 million and it made $30 million in 2007 which shows stellar growth in that part of the market.
The power of their SMS games is in the retention value. Customers hang around for 3 to 4 months and pay on average $9.99 for a subscription. With the SMS games, they have a shot of winning up to $50K.
