Another smart initiative to capture a bit of the market from the
operators has been launched by UK based Smart Devices LTD who opened a
software wap shop dedicated for the smartphones they import.
With M:Metris reporting a 6.6% penetration of smartphones on the UK market, there is a good market for distributing dedicated mobile entertainment to these people that are often left empty handed when it comes to content on the operator decks. Next to the UK, there are 64 million smartphones in the hands of consumers world wide according to Canalys.
