Skyhook Releases Android Developer Survey

December 2nd, 2009 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: AndroidOS, Research & Stats | 1 Comment »

Skyhook-wirelessSkyhook Wireless, a company specialized in LBS services for both mobile game and application developers, has issues a survey under thirty of their clients to check platform satisfaction on Android.

In total, 57% of their developers said they are not satisfied with their turnovers. 90% of them don’t even manage to pass 10.000 downloads. 52% didn’t even pass 5.000 downloads.

One of the complaints of developers is Google Checkout. 43% of the Android developers thinks a simpler/smarter billing system would increase the revenues as consumers have problems understanding the system.

The biggest issue however remains the design of Android Market. 82% thinks the design should undergo some dramatic changes in order to improve download rates. Now, it’s too hard to get noticed.

As a result of these issues, 68% of the correspondents said there are somewhat or not likely to put further work in their apps.
