You take a set of evergreens (chess, connect 4 etc) and mix them with a gaming platform in which players can compete with each other. Yes, newbie Skiller-Games aims at millions with their new platform.
By launching the platform together with a portfolio of 12 turn based multiplayer games, the company hopes to offer every gamer his or her favourite classic. The platform also houses several social features like messaging and setting up tournaments.
When in tournaments, players will be playing for real prizes. They do this by betting with points or money. Talking about prizes, we took a short look at the terms and conditions of the service. Between all the rules, we found this funny bit: “By registering and establishing an Account with us you expressly confirm that: you are not bankrupt…”. So there clearly is a business model.
We asked the company if they already have forecasts on the uptake of the platform. Skiller's marketing manager told us that the company expects to reach millions world-wide with their community.
