Where a lot of companies are opening up their D2C platforms (or App Stores), Sharewire has decided to close theirs. Their system allowed everyone to have their own mobile content store in minutes.
The reason for closing their platform is because the company has transformed into a mobile service agency and seems to making more money with developing custom products for their (mostly Dutch) clients. In the announcement, the platform is already end-of-life and most parts have already been disconnected while some clients might still have been using them.
"We understand that the disconnection might have led to some issues for some content providers, although most of you have changed business models already some time ago. If so, we apologize for the inconvenience." Said Ivo Wentholt, CEO of Sharewire
