October 21st, 2009 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Analysis & Editorial | No Comments »

Selatra Mobile content aggregator Selatra has started to promote their Application focused sales portals toward operators. With this move, the company expects to increase their footprint in the operator market.

The company will be offering it’s App Stores as a white label solution similar to their mobile gaming channels and is will be supporting various operating systems.

“Every operator should have one” states Fergal O’Callaghan, CEO of Selatra “Applications work because they tend to be unique to mobile and social technology.  They offer new opportunities for value added services and should be promoted differently than games.  Operators need new ways to touch the consumer and independent developers need more dedicated channels to market.  We are in a position to give everyone what they want.”

“There has been a huge shift from the mobile development community to profit from the phenomenon that is mobile applications” says Mick Gilley, Selatra Licensing Manager “The popularity of the handset manufacture app store has really encouraged developers to flex their creative talents.  Whether it’s a calculator, quiz or location based app, customers want these products and we have a vehicle to bring them to the mass market.”
