Samsung Apps is not only available on the Samsung phones, but also on Samsung TV’s and Blue Ray/Media players. To make development for these platforms more interesting, the company is hosting a contest for US developers.
The Samsung Apps for TV channel currently hosts 200 apps. We have tested this service in the Netherlands and found only a dozen or so available but that is probably because there doesn’t seem to be any way to bill consumers right now.
Samsung has $500.000 in prizes for US developers and announced that it will be organizing this contest in Europe as well. When it will announce the European version is unknown for now.
