Sagem/Mobiwire Files for Bankruptcy

May 3rd, 2011 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Companies & M&A | No Comments »

Ahhhh, good old Sagem Wireless. They made the cheapes phones for any operator that would sell them and they were a bliss. Though underpowered, compatibility was great making porting just a bit more fun.

Today however, Sagem is in problems and those problems are so big, the company filed for bankruptcy. Even licensing brands like Puma and slapping those on their phones couldn’t save the ship from sinking. The news wasn’t brought by Sagem/Mobiwire itself, but it came through Myriad Group, one of the suppliers who is waiting for €7 million in outstanding bills.
