Rovio Raises $42 Million

Rovio has closed a series A funding round and managed to pull in $42 million in fresh capital. The funding round was lead by Accel Partners and Atomico Ventures.

Atomico Ventures is a VC company led by Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis, the guys between Skype, Kazaa and Joost. Zennstrom will be joining Rovio;s board of directors. Rovio will be using the investment to further develop the Angry Birds IP.
