Rovio’s release of Angry Birds is a huge success, everybody knows. In fact, the company’s game has already been downloaded three million times through both GetJar and the Android Market.
Those three million downloads, only represent three percent of what the company hopes to achieve on Android if we have to believe the blog post from Google. To monetize on the success, Rovio is making use of AdMob. That also allows Rovio to insert their own ads into the game to promote Angry Birds merchandising.
“Rovio is excited about the partnership with Google’s AdMob as we explore new business models that will allow us to maximize reach across mobile platforms,” said Peter Vesterbacka, Mighty Eagle of Rovio. “The launch of a free, ad-supported version of Angry Birds was a great success with over 2 million downloads on Android in its first weekend.”
Congratulations
