RIM’s most popular handout, the PlayBook, will soon get an update that will disallow consumers to sideload their apps onto the tablet. From that moment on, all installs are obligated to go through BlackBerry App World.
This news comes from RIM exec Alec Saunders. The new policy should be activated in PlayBook OS 2.1. Ales stated that some developers will not develop apps for the PlayBook until sideloading is disabled.
