RIM has released their new BlackBerry 6 OS and the BlackBerry Torch as their answer to the iOS and Android devices that are storming the market they once dominated.
BlackBerry 6 has received many upgrades the other OS’s already had more or less since they launched. BlackBerry 6 now has a global search feature and social integration with networks like Facebook and Twitter. The leap from version 5 to 6 is bigger than any versions before.
The BlackBerry 9800 Torch, that will be available at $199 on AT&T has a full touchscreen and additional slide-out qwerty keyboard. The screen has an average resolution of 480×360 and it comes with a 5MP camera that can’t record HD. BlackBerry Fanboys will probably love the device for all the new OS features, but it is unlikely anybody will consider it over the iPhone 4 or Galaxy S.
BlackBerry 6 upgrades will also be available for the BlackBerry Bold 9650, 9700 and Pearl 3G.
