December 9th, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: BlackBerry | No Comments »

Research in Motion has announced that it will be releasing BlackBerry devices based on dualcore processors. Current models have single core CPU’s from Marvell.

RIM needs dualcore to stabilize the new QNX operating system as it is demanding much more resources according to CEO Mike Lazaridis. QNX is superior to the current BlackBerry OS, but features like multitasking are very demanding on the hardware.
