Reverb Settles with FTC over Review Scandal

August 27th, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Analysis & Editorial, Platforms: iOS | No Comments »

Reverb Communications has chosen to settle a lawsuit brought on by the FTC over the deceptive reviews the company wrote on Apple’s App Store.

Reverb launched paid reviews of Apps without (of course) making any notice of that in the review. The size of the settlement has not been disclosed by the parties. Reverb is not the only company scamming in the App Store, so we don’t expect this company to be the last one that gets sued.
